2011 Artesy Rheia is named after the Greek Goddess of motherhood . The 2011 Artesy Rheia Syrah is a single vineyard wine that was grown at Lindhorst Farms in Paarl South Africa which is north of Stellenbosch near Cape Town. Paarl is a warm district where the temperatures are moderated by the “Cape Doctor” trade winds. 2011 Artesy Rheia was produced in the cellar of Lindhorst Wines in Paarl. The fruit was 100% hand sorted and whole berry clusters were dropped into fermentation bins. It featured a natural indigenous fermentation with daily gentle manual punchdowns. 2011 Rheia was aged for 18 months in neutral Seguin Mareau French oak barrels. 2011 Artesy Rheia carries the appellation of the vineyard and winery
